Introduction

Hi there! My name is Chantelle Baxter and I'm a freelance web designer living in Melbourne, Australia.

I've been working in the digital industry for a little over three years now, and I've worked with my own clients, fulltime for various agencies, as well as contracted as a freelancer too. If you are looking for a designer that produces pixel perfect, exceptional quality designs - then you've come to the right place.

But it doesn't stop there! If you'd like to find out more about the skills I have and services I can offer you, please check out my about page. Or you can go straight to the juicy stuff and look at some of my recent designs.

My news

Federation Square meeting, DAN meeting, Oxfam Approval!

Some exciting updates in the past few days.

As of yesterday, Dollar for Darfur has been officially registered with Oxfam. I’ve even got the signed PDF to prove it!

I’ve also set up another appointment with the Darfur Australia Network tomorrow night - I have to present a proposal about the idea and hopefully they want to take it on too..

And THEN, on Friday.. there will be a meeting with federation square to discuss bringing the Darfur / Darfur exhibition (http://www.darfurdarfur.org) over. It would run in the main centre of Fed Square and have SMS television set up nearby so people can SMS to donate!

HOW EXCITING!

Proposal writing has commenced.

What a drama! I’ve finally found a really good Fundraiser proposal template that I’ll be getting started on tomorrow :) I was meant to finish it tonight but I got sidetracked by a movie (V for Vendetta) and more Darfur research. I’m waiting for emails back from the Darfur Australia Network as well as the Fitzroy Learning Centre.

The funniest thing happened on Tuesday - I was heading into the city, and as I was approaching federation square I noticed a large group of protesters. I said to myself “How funny would it be if they were protesting about Darfur…”

There was large group of Sudanese people gathered in the courtyard, and they were holding signs protesting the killings going on in Sudan. Coincidence? I think not. I grabbed a flyer off one of the girls there, and have now contacted the Fitzroy Learning Centre about support for the project.

So funny how some opportunities just fall into your lap!

Sade - Voices for Darfur

One of my mates (Adam!) from my Self-Expression and Leadership program just shot me an email about a song he found called “Mum - Voices of Darfur” by an artist called Sade. A very gentle song, but a total eye opener..
