Do It In A Dress Day 1,2,3. The hunt for 300 Heros.

Do It In A Dress Day 2

Here’s a confronting statistic for you : a girl in Sierra Leone is more likely to be raped and sexually assaulted than she is to attend high school.

Do you find that shocking? Or did you breeze over that sentence like you would any other. Stop and think, “What would life be like for an 11 year old girl who dreams of becoming a nurse, but instead ends up raped and pregnant before she turns 15?”

It doesn’t exactly fill you with warm and fuzzy feelings. Many people will stop reading this post after the first sentence. It’s too blunt, too confronting – and most of us don’t like to face the icky stuff that goes on in the world. So if you’re still here – you’re a hero. You can face it. Stare it down. You’re courageous and strong. You’ve got what it takes to change the world.

There are many things in the world that suck – but collectively we have the power to change them. And I want your help to change the lives of girls in Sierra Leone.

One School Dress at a Time.

One Girl has just launched Do It In A Dress. Our goal? To have 300 heros from across the world sign up and Do It In A Dress. So far we’ve got peeps from Thailand, America, Canada, Australia and Saudi Arabia signed up.. ooh yeah baby!

The best part about it? It’s easy (and fun)! Pick your challenge, raise $250 (the cost of one education scholarship), Do It in A Dress and send a girl in Sierra Leone to school.

Easy huh? If you want to see the difference education can make, watch this video of Isha – Isha is one of the girls in our scholarship program.

My challenge? I’m going to be wearing a school dress everyday for the next 30 days. It’s already begun. It’s been three days since I’ve thrown on my uniform, and it’s already been a hell of a lot of fun.

AND I want you to join me. I want YOU to Do It In A Dress.

Yes, you can like this post, yes you can tweet it, but honestly – you’ll make the biggest difference by DOING IT YOURSELF.

It’s easy to pass the buck – how often do we say? “Someone else will do it” – Well, I’m not asking someone else. I’m asking YOU.

So my hero – will you take the challenge – what will you be Doing In A Dress?

Namaste,
